Our maple sugar shack build used pole barn construction with traditional board and batten siding and metal roof.
The main structure is 16'x24' with a 12'x16' overhang for sap and firewood storage. The floor system is a floating structure with pressure treated timbers sitting on a gravel bed with 2"x10" pine floor boards. The hearth section provides a safe surface for the wood fired evaporator. The window sashes feature a unique tilt-in/removable design and steam is vented through a fully functional cupola.
